Helping you to manage your medicines

Monitored Dosage Systems (MDS) are a way of helping patients to take the correct medicines at the correct times and are sometimes called blister packs.

They are most useful for patients who have difficulty remembering when to take their medicines or indeed if they have already taken them.

The blister packs have been designed to support many different people living in the community today who all have varying medication requirements. The system allows the patient to feel comfortable about large quantities of medication and allows the right dosage to be taken at the right time.

MDS also helps healthcare professionals or family and friends to monitor the patients medication compliance as the blister packs are clearly labeled so you know exactly what tablets are in them, when they should be taken and what they look like.

Each blister pack contains one week’s medicines and we generally supply four weeks at a time.

This service is free of charge and we will gladly provide MDS to any patient that would benefit from it; however, your doctor will need to agree that it is appropriate for your medicines to come in a blister pack.
